Releasing Your Creativity Day, Bath |
||
I received an email from the Prophetic Art ministry at Olive grove in February. I have noidea who sent it to me. So after finding out about the ministry I ordered Bhari's book (see the books page) and decided to book a place on the 'Releasing your creativity' workshop run by Bhari and James Long. I mentined this to several people and found that Carole, Patsy and Susanne, all from the Christian Arts group, were eager to join me.
We arrived at Bath City church on Saturday 23rd June all enthused and open to what God wanted to do with us. We were made very welcome by Bhari where there were 11 of us ready to do the workshop. After introductions, prayer and explanations we immediately got down to the practical - starting with simple but useful excercises using different brushes with acrylic paint. Painting to worship music, I found, was very rewarding as the Holy Spirit started working within us. We started on the canvas's immediately after an enjoyable 'picnic' style lunch with worship music playing and prayer. Each of us produced different but amazing pieces which we talked about at the end of the session. James, Bhari and Jane all encouraged and discussed our work with us collectively and individually. Bhari explained the use of different colours and their significance in spiritual terms. I really felt an awakening, the start of something new. Throughout the day James painted on a canvas and we were able to see how he layered up his work. He explained his piece at the end - see below. We ended with prayer and exchanged blessings. A really worthwhile day. I will definately try to get along to one of their residential art weekends in Wales. Since we have returned from Bath, both Patsy and myself have been inspired to produce more work - so watch this space... |

PLAGS for sale - March 2017 |
||
About six years ago I decided to create knitted shoulders bags using biodegradable plastic bags, garden twine and Recyclable materials. The result was PLAGS -PLAstic fashionable shoulders baGS with colourful fabric linings.
I started selling them at local craft fayres and they went down well. The beauty of the bags is that when you tire of them they could be thrown away and most would biodegrade naturally. The proceeds of the sales went to recycling projects. Having had a short break I am pleased to announce that they are back on sale, cost £3.50 obtainable through this website - email Belinda@Christian-Art.net. |
